GeekGirl611’s Bio
Greetings. First, let me tell you that I am humbled that you would even show an interest in not only reading my blogs, my ramblings, my thoughts, my opinions, but that you would want to come here and actually read about me. Thank you.
I am married to a wonderful man with whom I am deeply and madly in love with. I am deeply proud of him, and you should be as well, for he serves me, you and our entire country in the U.S. Marine Corps. OOH RAH! We have been together for eight years, and through those eight years, managed to create two beautiful and amazing little children, whom I stay home with and educate myself.Yes, I homeschool, stereotype me if you wish, it will just show your lack of wisdom and knowledge on this topic.
I love the written word. I enjoy reading so much that when I am enthralled in a book, I oftentimes forget I am not watching a movie, because i can see it in my head as I read. It comes alive to me. I read just about anything; sci-fi, fantasy, fiction, thriller, mystery, non-fiction, self-help, classics – I just love to read.
I also enjoy writing. I would love to publish a book, I have many ideas, I just have to… as the saying goes, “get my ducks in a row”. My favorite form of writing would have to be poetry. Poetry is as freeing as flying to me. In poetry, you dictate how it plays out, with or without punctuation, correct grammar, etc. In poems, you don’t have to convey just a story – you can convey emotion. Poetic emotion; the rawest, purest form of expressing yourself. At least, that’s my opinion.
Why “GeekGirl611″, you ask? Well, June 11 (06-11) is my birthday, and I am the geekiest girl you will ever meet. *chuckles* I love (and spend way too much money on) comic books. Mostly just the Marvel universe, but a few others as well (Preacher anyone?!). I watch Star Wars on a monthly basis, I get much enjoyment out of playing video games (PS2, Wii, PC). I am obsessed with Walt Disney, the man, for he was a true creator of magic, and wanted to share that with the world. I also very much like to play games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Munchkins, Magic: The Gathering, etc. If you don’t know what those are, that’s ok. Although I do not go as much as I used to or would like to, comic book conventions are my heaven on earth. My favorited being the Comicon. So, yeah… I’m a geek. *laughs*
I am also a Christian, so if you do not believe in God and do not like references to a Christian God, then you may want to avoid some of my poems or blogs, because I do on occasion bring it up. I by no means preach and would never say anyone is wrong for believing in something else. I do enjoy a good debate, whether it be about religion, politics, education, military – anything really. I very much enjoy hearing others opinions and view points on things. I think we, as human beings, have a lot to learn, and I think we can learn a lot from each other if we just opened our minds and be willing to really listen to each other.
One more thing… I guess I should warrant a warning. I’m honest. Brutally blunt. I do not and will not “sugarcoat” my thoughts or opinions. My husband fights for my right to speak my mind, and you can be sure I am going to take full advantage of that. If i offend or hurt your feelings, take solace in the fact that while I am not and will not be apologetic for being purely me, I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone.
The most important things you need to know about is me is that I am happy, and that the purpose of my blogs is to simply share my thoughts with others.
Thank you.

prayers for the hubby. I am also a Marine and damn proud of it; and I love the idea of homeschooling too. Great blog you have here. I found your blog on my good friend Ted Murphy’s post – http://tedmurphy.org/post/43702172/orlando-twitter-users – and then on Twitter.
Take care,
Michael

We follow each other on twitter, but wanted to let you know that I am so grateful there are people like you in this world. While most moms I know are complaining about their motherhood duties, there you are, standing strong, with two kids, pets, a home and a husband far away helping us all be safe. Many blessings and wishes of health, happiness and peace to you and your family.
